Hanukah Campaign

A little light dissipates a lot of darkness.

That is the message of Chanukah — and it is the foundation of Kollel Hasot.

During Chanukah we light the nerot specifically at night, because the Greeks tried to plunge us into darkness by taking away our Torah. Torah is our light. When Hashem performed the miracle and we overcame the Greeks, we returned to the books and once again illuminated the night with holiness. We do this for 8 nights a year.

Kollel Hasot continues that miracle all year long.

At midnight — the darkest moment of the night — 25 dedicated rabbis gather in our synagogue and learn Torah on behalf of the community. Instead of eight nights of light, they create a 365-day Chanukah, bringing illumination, protection, and blessing to all who support them.

This is not symbolic. It is a living reenactment of the Chanukah miracle:
Where the Greeks tried to extinguish our spiritual light, these rabbis reignite it every single night.

This practice comes from an ancient Syrian custom. Rabbi Abraham Antebi testified that as long as Torah learning continued at midnight, the community merited protection. We are proud to continue that tradition today.

Every night, these rabbis leave their wives and families to learn for us. Their dedication keeps the spiritual flame burning — a human Menorah — bringing merit to all who partner with them.

Supporters of Kollel Hasot consistently speak of yeshuot, protection, and blessing that followed their donations. But beyond all the miracles, supporting Torah — especially Torah learned in the heart of the night — is simply the right thing to do.

Help us keep the miracle alive.
